Does anyone happen to know if the dsi Jazz engine has a timing chain tensioner that works using oil pressure to keep it at the right tension?
All the research I've done seems to suggest that it's not hydraulic, but it seems strange that it works so well without some form of tension adjustment.
Reason for asking is that the chain sounded noisy for 10 seconds or so when the car was started from a deep freeze the other day, but sounded lovely afterwards, presumably when the oil had arrived at the right places.
