Some of the weirdest hire car options I’ve had are in Southern Spain - I’ve had several cars with heated seats and a few with heated steering wheels!

I’m not sure why they have those in Spain, where air conditioning is much more important.

Spain probably gets European spec models, and many parts of Europe get cold weather.

Some of the central parts of Spain have a desert climate. I can imagine they can get quite cold at night.

The heated steering wheel was not required until this morning, it seems to work well..... :)

For those with the heated steering wheel in their Jazz - how are you finding it?

I’ve tried mine many times but it only starts to go hot, then goes cold for ages before maybe going a bit lukewarm some time after.

You can leave it on for half an hour and not really know if it’s on or off. The light is on when you press the button.

I’ve tried it on 9 degree mornings when the car has been parked outside but it doesn’t really do much.

The heated seats are great but I’m finding my heated steering wheel to be not much use - maybe I have a faulty one?

...I switch mine on, on the driveway, and after 500 hundred yards switch it off again as the wheel is sufficiently warm for me.
I know some car review channels whinge about some cars only having steering wheels that are heated at the 9 and 3 positions, which for the country they are in, Canada, seems bonkers :D

I've never used it, same as the heated seats.

Mine is stored in a garage so never gets that cold. Quite happy to wait for the main heater.
Let's be careful out there !

Same here.  It warms  quickly . I was just expecting a warm or hot steering wheel.  It is warm  (and a bit warmer at 9 and 3, I thought)  but there's more to it than that.  It seems to create a hot air zone around the dashboard and wheel that is warmer than can be explained by heat felt on the wheel.   Almost like having a dedicated warm air vent.   Seats heated up quickly as well.
Only used at 9C so far, not exactly arctic.  But we were warm enough to switch them all off after about a mile, and didn't need climate control heat.  (maybe we are hardy folk.  Minus 15C may be a different matter!)
My IQ test came back negative

I have my heated seat on year round. It's the one thing I must have on any car. It is perfect for my bad back.

I love my heated steering wheel - it’s plenty warm enough for me after 5 minutes or so (at which point I’ll switch it off) but certainly does the job on a cold morning until the cabin heaters are warmed up.

As to the heated seats I find them far too hot on all settings except the lowest, but the lowest setting is also very welcome on cold mornings.

Apologies for bumping this back up but can I just say whoever at Honda decided that heated seats and steering wheel should be fitted to the Jazz is a god amongst mortals? 5am, car covered in juuuuust enough snow to have formed a lovely frozen shell that takes long enough to clear the fingers have gone numb. Get in, chuck on both heated items and by the time I'm at the end of the road enough pleasantness has returned to the world it's worth doing the 50 mile commute.

On a similar subject also have to praise the car's heaters (both air and glass). By the time I'd worked around the rest of the car the windscreen didn't need much more than the softer bits of an ice scraper, didn't even have any misting under the ice. No hint of fogging on the drive and aside from an... interesting moment two minutes in when the remaining snow on the roof quickly melted and did a damn fine impression of going through a car wash everything was very civilised. Even the Honda Sensing stuff worked as it should despite the general road gunk getting thrown up on the windscreen. Oh and the Sunlight White paint looks very nice with a light layer of frost over the top (though I suspect seeing it in actual sunlight might necessitate a car wash....).

This is the first time I have used the jazz in the cold. Having cleaned the frost and driven out of the drive the heated seats were warm and the heated steering wheel was lovely. The jazz heating appears to warm up very fast. We had only gone about two miles and the cabin was nice and warm.

And equally, whoever decided that Crosstar variants should have the heated steering wheel deleted should be shot!
