Damaged drivers door mirror - 2016 Jazz
« on: August 14, 2026, 05:38:39 PM »
The mirror of my daughter’s car was hit; it now no longer stays in place when driving (blown back by slipstream) and the power unfold function no longer works. Glass adjustment, power in-folding and heating seem ok

Dealer replacement cost is >>£400!

Having watched a YouTube instruction video I purchased a used replacement from a crashed car and fitted it only to find this also had defective folding AND mirror tilting (presumably damaged in accident if not before) AND does not stay in place i.e. worse than the original.

1. Does any one have experience of aftermarket new replacements and if so any supplier recommendations please?
2. Alternatively, has anyone tried repairing one of these mirror mechanisms? (YouTube videos show how to disassemble the unit and replacement cogs can be purchased via Amazon)

OR, given the factory replacement cost and hassle, should I just accept defeat, refit the original and leave the mirror bodged in position with duct tape?

Any guidance welcome 🙏

Interesting - thank you.
This looks to be an aftermarket imitation so the covers may not be interchangeable (preferably we would replace the met.blue cap to match the other side). But the price is very competitive!
Do you have experience of using this supplier?
