Looking to buy a honda jazz

Right here it goes im new to this forum i drive a ford focus, but the girlfriend is looking to get a jazz.
couple of questions
Am i  right in thinking these have camchains rather than belts, in which case regular oil changes and servicing the camchain should last the life of the car.
So on that note when would the waterpump need replacing, mileage/time period
Any known faults with these cars that can cause serious greif

edit: haven't heard of people replacing water pumps, but production started only in 2002..

very reliable and easy to run.have heard the i shift is not all that good but manual and cvt are ok.regular oil and filter changes go a long way,plenty to choose from with lot of extras on some.take your time and you will find a belter

I'd go for a post 2006 - due to odd faults, and ignore IShift  and CVT pre 2011 is subject to warranty issues.

I bought a CVT and it's really great for driving - relaxing and economical.

one could never go wrong buying the jazz. honda come up tops in reliability surveys , honda jazz was top selling car in japan and won car of the year 4 years consecutively , it also knocked toyota off the top selling position for the corolla which toyota held for 32 consecutive years in japan. as for timing chains , its more reliable than belts which had to be checked timeously at services and could give up ghost at any given time even if belts where changed at specified intervals . i had belts break way before the change intervals . timing chains should last the entire life of the car. the jazz's luggage area will rival some SUV's and outclass most cars in its class

I have only recently bought a Jazz. Got it at the end of January.

I am really happy with it. Its a nice car to drive. Feels nice and got a bit more power than my 1.2 punto I had.

A lot more refined that the punto and just feels better made. On Sunday we are heading down to Stansted to go for a short break to Krakow so I am going to have 4 adults and luggage in the car and I am sure it will all fit in no problem. The boot on the car is really surprisingly large for such a small car.
