Dashboard lights
« on: October 31, 2012, 11:50:45 PM »
Just a couple of quickies:
Should there be a 'Dipped Beam' light as well as a main beam?
Previous different cars I have had always had one - is mine a blown bulb.?
I get the same on side lights as I get on dipped beam
There is a light for fog lights as well as the sidelights and main beam
bit no Dipped beam.

Also - I have not found a dimmer for the dashboard lights - not important
but just wondered if there is one....?

No dipped beam dashlight.

No sure about the dimmer but I would of thought the higher grade models would have one.

There is no Dipped Beam indication on my 2012 ES which is the same as my previous 2009 ES.  Both cars had a dash lights dimmer mounted just below the speedo, on the right behind the Steering wheel hub,  which turns to adjust the light level.

Thanks Guys - the dipped beam lamp (or lack of it) doesn't bother me I was just curious
as it's the 1st car not to have one for me.
I will find the dimmer - again not an issue - but just not yet discovered

In all my cars I have never had a "dipped beam" warning light. I wonder if you are getting confused with the "main beam" warning light which all cars must have.  :) :)

Dashboard dimmer is what looks like the old trip meter reset button, but turn it to adjust dash brightness.  8)

I was wary of the 'trip meter knob as it resets if you push it, also turning it seems to change view mode.

Yes  my Scenic had side light lamp, Dipped beam which was a sort of Light symbol green with light rays going down at 45° and a full beem like the dipped but blu with beams going straight forward.

As I recall - the previous cars all had something similar so you would see it change from one to the other when you dipped and went back fto full beam.
So this is a first for me...

My Mk2 Punto had a dipped beam light.

I don't remember my 2004 Jazz SE Sport having a light for side lights, instead the instruments would light up if the lights were on.
