Compared to Mk 2, 3 Prius?
« on: October 02, 2024, 11:56:21 PM »
Good day!
In terms of comfort, motorway stability, and quietness, could anyone with experience driving a MK 2 or Mk 3 Prius share their experience as to how it compares to the Jazz Mk4?

Trying to pick a smallish car to change to.
My options seem to Nissan Aura(but it's expensive), Jazz Mk 4, Prius 2, 3 or Auris(but the windows are small).

Thanks

I once test drove a Prius 2. Very comfortable on the highway, but not much fun to drive. After driving a Honda for a dozen years, Toyota does not seem to connect the steering to the wheels. Tight corners and roundabouts seemed to upset the car and steering was - sort of - guessing where you would end up.
Also I compared a Corolla to an Mk4 Jazz: Corolla drives much better than Prius 2 or 3, but still: Honda for me.

Something to do with involvement and engagement while driving.

Toyota have resolved this in recent years.  It certainly was a problem with the older Prius.  I had one.  Very inert steering.  We now, along with a Honda, have an Aygo X, and the steering is one of the best features of the car!
