Eco driving tips please for me and my crosstar?

For me, I’ve found cruising speed to have the biggest effect on fuel economy.

When you go above 50mph the economy drops off a lot.

50mph roads and below are where I get my best economy.

At 70mph I’ve found I get 50mpg - it doesn’t matter if I accelerate slowly, it’s still about the same mpg.

me too.  on 'A' roads ,going with the flow  without too many fast overtakes   you can approach 80 mpg in an EX .  At 70 mph  low 50's mpg maybe less depending on headwind  ,gradient etc.      I find 65 mph  a good compromise, upper 50's or ,  low to mid 60's mpg, a bit faster than trucks, but keeping place with those drivers s who's inaccurate speedos are telling them they are doing 70 mph.

Dont use climate control when you dont really  need to .  In cold weather use the heated seats rather than cabin heating .

Try to find the sweet spot where the car is quite nippy and responsive with  only gentle use of the throttle.  Exceed this and consumption (and noise) increases with little increase in performance.  Some drivers may be doing this without realising it.

Avoid short journeys from a cold start.

I dont habitually use B mode  except on long descents, or eco mode so cant say how much they help overall.   For me ECO mode stifles throttle response  , changing it from perky to sluggish.

Cruise control sometimes accelerates the car  quite aggressively to regain speed. More than is necessary . Quite noisy and heavy on fuel.  I just apply the  throttle manually and do it more gradually.
Trust a dog to guard your house  , but not your sandwich

I think the Jazz may be programmed to do this - I was be sitting with the engine off and the seat heaters on, but when I turned off the seat heaters the petrol engine started up.

I tried it a couple of times and it repeated.

I think they have programmed the systems quite well for fuel economy.

I am using B mode and Eco more often than not. The main advantage of B mode is that it provides more aggressive braking and, theoretically, adds a bit more electricity to the battery. Econ mode does definitely mute the throttle response (it is also supposed to adjust climate control to use less fuel). For most of my driving Econ mode is ideal but, on longer trips on faster roads I do knock it off.

Just remember to turn Eco off when the temps get close to 30C.

If the same as my Civics, with Eco on the cabin gets hotter and hotter and as soon as Eco is off, the fan kicks in faster with nice icy cold air.

Not had my Jazz in hot weather yet.
Let's be careful out there !

I have ECO on all the time and aircon was adequate on hot days last summer
