Jazz CVT 2005 won't reverse up slopes.

Hi! I'm just wondering if anyone could help me, I bought a Jazz cvt 2005 last January. It's recently passed its MOT and drives fairly well, it sometimes jerks when accelerating - not always though, my main issue though is it won't reverse up hill, it reverses when the road is flat but any slope and it just won't go, it just revs and rolls forward. This isn't ideal as I live in the countryside with alot of narrow roads, I have to reverse alot to let cars pass. Thanks in advance!

Change the CVT fluid

When was it last changed?

Thanks for replying, it was last changed last December, using Honda oil. Just before I bought it. How often does it usually need changing?

Oh, I've only done 7k since the change. I've booked it into the garage for Monday, hopefully they can figure it out.

It sounds like the reverse starter clutch is worn, hopefully your garage will be able to find the problem.
