Scroll titles on Infotainment system
« on: August 29, 2023, 01:48:51 PM »
Hi everybody
I have a Jazz Sport and the basic infotainment system supplied is not one that incorporates SatNav, just the basic version.
My question is: When playing music either from disc or USB some of the song titles are too long and exceed the number of digits displayed. Is there any way to either set up scrolling globally (ie permanently) or failing that how can I see the rest of the title on an "as required" basis
Any pointers would be gratefully recieved, thanks in advance

I dont know if there is an official way, but if like me your music  is  ripped from CD's etc  you can use software to change the title/artist  yourself  to something shorter or more meaningful.    I've a few that now display as the film or advert in which they famously feature or 'Ode to Joy' rather than ' Ludwig Van  Beethovens 9th symphony 4th movement .'   But Its quite a big job and I could never win a music quiz.    ;D

The one I use to organise and alter info is MP3Tag. I've tried others but this has more tools.

Assuming you have ripped to MP3
Let's be careful out there !

...I don't really know which car you have MK4 se? (as the post is in the MK4 section) or the 2016 one in your profile?
If you are playing from disc then I guess its the latter?

The MK2 had a button labelled 'Title' which did exactly what you're after, expanded the text to read more of it.
I don't know about the layout of your exact car but I assume you can't see that button?
It was just under the am/fm button.

Just a thankyou to all who responded. I'll look into shufty's suggestion and yes I could shorten the titles (I use Tag&Rename btw) but I prefer to keep the tags as they are supposed to be. I'm hoping shufy's solution will be the answer, but he's also reminded me that I need to update my model in my profile.
Thanks again guys....

If you actually own a 2018 Jazz you're probably in the wrong part of the forum.
The Jazz GR (2020 onwards) certainly has no "title button" on the media player - it's all operated by touch except volume, on/off and the skip buttons.
