We've been toying with the idea of replacing our 14 year old 1.4 GD Sport with a used MK3 Jazz but we are a bit undecided on which one to get as there are things we want from both the Sport and the EX and we also have some questions I hope some of you who have these cars can help us answer.
We don't do much mileage with the car as it is mostly used for the school run and grocery shopping so most of the mileage is over short journeys - probably less than 5k miles a year.
My wife and I love the look of the new Sport and quite keen on the idea of having a bit more power (although not essential). However, we're not sure if it would mean paying a lot more in fuel costs and insurance over the EX. This is something I would like to get your opinions on - as to whether you really notice the difference in fuel consumption between the two engines. Well, I suppose the more meaningful comparison might be the difference in fuel consumption between our current GD and the GK Sport?
The other thing that we really would like to have are LED headlights - which I have read conflicting information on, with some saying that it's only available on the EX and not the Sport while other sources say it is standard on both.
One idea I had, to get the best of both worlds, was to go with the EX and then change the bumpers and side skirts to make it look like the Sport - not sure how easy this is though. Has anyone done this before?
I'm still doing my homework on the GK, so it would be great to get some advice from current owners on how they feel about the GK and if there are any particular faults to look out for.
Many thanks
