Low fuel warning data point
« on: June 29, 2016, 02:38:12 PM »
Thought I have better learn when the low fuel warning comes on on my new car.

Warning light came on with 25 miles remaining

0 miles remaining coincided with the last bar of the fuel gauge disappearing (coincidence or by design?), as we drove into the garage.

Tank took 37.29 litres to second pump cut-off, so about 30 miles remaining.

If this is typical of the Mk3 then things have improved.

Vic.

I have read elsewhere that Honda have improved the ridiculously conservative way the warning light works on the Mk 2 (which I used to have) and Mk1 (which wife still has).

The light on my Mk3 came on with 27 miles left. What I forgot to do was check if the number of miles left went down faster than the actual millage.

Yes it does!

I had been expecting to reach a garage on A38 based on earlier miles to empty, but had to turn off M42 to find a garage.
