« on: July 21, 2017, 09:14:25 AM »
Hi, trying to remove this sat nav, I believe it's a clarion.

I can't figure out how to remove this at all, can anyone help?

Make sure you have the code somewhere.
Summary of http://www.hondafitjazz.com/manual3/index.html > Body > Audio/Entertainment > Audio Unit Removal/Installation

Remove the centre lower cover by removing lower glovebox to push bottom clips of cover from behind, unhook top of panel.
Undo bolt that is holding audio unit.
From upper glovebox, lever audio surround panel at top corner then proceed to unclip along top and side.
Slide out.

Thanks for the reply.

The issue I have is that the bolt holding it in from underneath doesn't seem to be there at all? No hole for it and no bolt.

I don't know if this is because it is a different unit than standard?

Thank you!

It's possible, but there will be some form of mechanical fixing.  The bolt is deeply set like it is on the GD cars, certainly not obvious at a glance.  On my earlier car it's a pair of Philips /  8mm hex head machine screws that are probably recessed by nearly 100mm (on the GE it's just one bolt).  A torch and a twisted neck are required to see them from underneath.  The dashboard part of the bracket will be in the same position for all head units.

If you check this video you'll see how deep it is - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eyb-NSz1jVs  this is also a double din frame but not a sat nav.  This second better video for a standard unit also shows how deep the 8mm bolt is - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7ofxjzgwYo

By dropping down the glovebox liner you can see the bolt location.  Even the basic head units have a lower bracket in the same place as a double din unit would.  The bolt is tight so the 8mm socket is better than using the Philips recess. Good luck.
