Hope this doesn't come under DIY as it is particular to the MK2 the MK1 has different gear.
Rear N/S window stuck. Have flooded around the seals with silicone, even pushing a plastic trim removal tool tween rubbers and window to get the silicone right in.
Thorough check of fuse, and feed from fuse to switch. Checked switch again for continuity ( must have done it wrong before as it now works according to the diagram)All OK. 12plus volts at switch end.
Checking the on line manual, the window is bolted to the mechanism BUT in order to check the motor it speaks of removing the glass.
What I would like to do is separate the glass from the mechanism by undoing the two bolts after securing the glass with tape. I can then check the motor is working and hopefully free off the glass, without removing either if it is a case .of the motor being OK and just the glass being obstinate.
Thankfully after doing the job twice the trim is a doddle to remove.
