Hello everyone, I’m writing on this post to first of all thank Bart who provided an exceptional tutorial and made it possible for me to install an original cruise control system on my 2009 Honda Jazz 1.4 i-VTEC (France).
As a complete beginner in cars, soldering, and electronics, I faced many difficulties and doubts during this installation, but I finallly succeeded.
So I wanted to describe the main problem I encountered: the only difference from Bart’s tutorial was that my vehicle didn’t have the black wire from pin 2 of the clockspring connector going to ground point G501.
I was very lucky because I was able to buy the T5 clockspring and the steering wheel on LeBonCoin, a French second-hand marketplace. Then I bought the clutch pedal switch and the 4-pin brake pedal switch on Ovoko. I also got various supplies on Amazon, such as electrical wires. I spent a total of €100, which is really reasonable for such a huge comfort upgrade!
My second biggest difficulty was the female pin connectors, as I couldn’t find a model exactly like the original ones. So I salvaged and used the ones from my original steering wheel. With a few squeezes of the pliers to flatten some of them, I managed to get good electrical contacts! If anyone has the exact reference for these connectors, I’d really appreciate it!
And finally, I made great use of this website, which lists absolutely everything about the Honda Jazz/Fit:
https://hondafitjazz.com/manual3/ . By clicking on Cruise Control System, you can access lots of diagrams and troubleshooting guides to ensure a proper installation and also help with debugging.
Thank you so much to this helpful forum, I hope these little details can help others too!
