Wing Mirror Parts
« on: April 18, 2016, 09:21:17 PM »
Hi all,

I'm new to this forum and hope you can help me. Over Easter my mum accidentally walked in to my passenger side wing mirror (left) and broke the plastic bracket that goes between the mirror itself and the car. The upper part of the mirror all appears to be fine. The power fold is also working okay (it moves the broken part of the bracket) and so does the heating and positioning of the mirror. The indicator is also working.

I'm struggling to find another whole mirror assembly that is the same so wondered if I could buy one of the lower spec mirrors (without indicator) and take mine off the bracket bit and put it on to the new one. If this isn't possible does anyone know the best place to pick up a second hand wing mirror. My money is always fairly tight so would like to keep the cost down as much as possible.

Thanks for the help,

David

The car is an 08 model if that makes any difference. (It was purchased 2nd hand from previously owned by Honda UK as an ex-company car as they'd upgraded all theirs to the newer version model.)

Hard luck , best to find another working example same spec colour to refit at your local breakers yeard or search E Bay.
Dissmantlers unlikely to want to sell you the part thats snapped.
Did you try Honda to see if parts available ?

A lot of the time when a cars in an accident the mirror part is damaged and the part you want is fine. Give the breakers a go.

What colour?
Although at my local 'help-yourself' yard the mirrors sell in the first couple of days, mind you they're only £17+v

The turret does appear the same externally for all 3 versions (plain/indicator/powerfold), and it's easy to remove the whole mirror assembly with 3 bolts and a plug, but I think there may be differences as illustrated by the parts diagrams. It does not seem to have it's own part code, Honda just seem to supply it as part of the whole assembly, although it may be worth asking at the parts counter for a definitive answer.
