Hi Guy's

Why is it that the vast majority of Jazz owners are old duffers ? All look the same and drive max 40 mph ??

Old duffer?

Young whippersnapper wants to insult elderly citizens who travel safely at 70mph.

I'll hit you with my zimmer frame when I am released from my geriatric hospital :P :P :P :P :o

When does Dufferdom start?  I need to keep my eye on the calendar and see how long I've got left  ;)

Many years ago I went from Blackpool to Manchester one morning and back in the evening driven by a 35 year old acquaintance of mine in a two year old Volvo which was his pride and joy, we were going to a meeting, he drove all the way there and back along the M55, M6 and M61 in the inside lane and never went above 40 mph, everything was passing but he just sat there completely in his own little world. :o

The only brand new car I ever owned was a Volvo 440 GLT.

I drove it at speed in to the back of a dustbin lorry.

It had less than 1200 miles on the clock.

I think the jazz did well with motability and older users due to the cabin space and highish driving position compared to many cars of a few years ago (not so much nowadays when everyone drives a suv), ive just got a jazz and the wife is looking at flat caps and matching slippers for me, she even joked whether i now qualify for a free bus pass..😤

I discovered the Jazz when I was searching for a car that was smaller on the outside but not smaller on the inside than my previous vehicle. While the kids are meant to be independent one never knows when there will be demands to move them and/or big objects that won't fit into their less versatile vehicles.

Hi, not all jazz owners drive at 40mph, we got stuck behind an old boy the other day struggling to do 20mph,
since we got our jazz about a month ago we have noticed loads of em, mostly being driven rather sedately,
super little car,its put 20 years on us :D

I'm old but prefer "codger" to "duffer"

I overtook several BMWs only the other day on the M62!

Hi Guy's

Not a good way to introduce yourself on this Jazz forum,  a duffer is an 'incompetent or stupid person' (of any age please note) and a codger is 'an old person who is strange or humorous' .

Used to be Volvos that had the pipe and slipper image and driven at 30mph everywhere.  Most Jazz drivers are old enough to have learnt that speeding gets you nowhere on todays roads. I wish I had a £ for every driver who has roared past me when I am doing legal speed limit only for me to catch him up within half a mile because he is stuck behind someone else doing the speed limit,  if you are going to travel faster than other traffic you have to accept that you are going to have to spend a lot of your time on the dangerous side of the road and use a damn sight more fuel than you should to get from A to B.

People are so obsessed with getting to their destination that they forget to enjoy the journey,  Better to be Mr Jones who is late than the Late Mr Jones.
Some people will only consider you an expert if they agree with your point of view or advice,  when you give them advice they don't like they consider you an idiot
