Parking sensors sounding whenever I put the car in reverse
« on: December 04, 2015, 02:47:12 PM »
Hi. I just bought a 2006 Jazz. Am having an issue with the parking sensors. Whenever the car is in reverse, i get the beeping noise. How can I troubleshoot this problem?

Just looked in my Dolphin book of words. Under constant tone alerts when parking sensors activated: I assume this is your problem.
It could be a sensor has developed a fault. or there is a kink in the cables.
Suggestion. Activate the sensors ( select reverse) then disconnect each sensor in turn from the brain box
( should be somewhere in the boot) if the fault disappears then probably it's a faulty sensor so replace the faulty one.
Of course if it's an E bay cheapy then it's probably better and cheaper to replace the lot.
Hope this helps.

I had aftermarket sensors fitted to my Jazz, and they seemed very sensitive, but one of them had been installed upside-down so was picking up the road, as it was to close. The sensors pop out quite easily and there is an arrow on the sensor that should be at the top of the sensor when installed.

Weird...

On my 2008 Honda Jazz ever since i bought it the sensors produce a continuous sound when the car is in reverse.

Isn't this by any means a feature rather than a problem?

My sensors bleep once when reverse is selected, then stay silent until 3ft from an object, then starts to bleep (2x/sec), at 2ft 4x/sec), at 1ft the tone is continuous.

Unless it has been set up as an external warning to pedestrians that you are reversing? But, yes, you may well have a problem.
