I did buy a newer car than my 2010 iShift Ex 1.4 Jazz -

It is a 1.2 Hyundai i10. It is very grown up feeling.

I hasten to add it was for my partner (who hates the Jazz quarterlights as that restricts front visibility) .

Not as big nor flexible, no auto, less bells and whistles. BUT a lot less noisy, Has Cruise and air con and Blueteeths, very well built AND a HUGE AMOUNT LESS MONEY!

Would I give up my Honda iShift for a Hyundai i10 - No Way!

But if you want a small, nippy perfectly formed lil' car - it is much better priced than anything of that quality. Dont bother with the 1 litre i10 - very scratchy 3 cylinder engine, go for the 1.2.

I just pulled the trigger on a brand new VW Polo TSI 1.2 I shall have it by Friday this week , I must be mad !! I drove it on Monday test drive, and I have to say its much more refined than the Jazz impressive little car . I put some photos on this thread ASAP.

I'd go for honda or hyundai too I reckon. I just want something really reliable, and good mpg, cheap to run.

Vw and audi are still pants on reliability. Ford and Vauxhall just rust horrendously and are too unreliable.

I do like the look of the new hyundai's. My grandad had some ancient one,  the thing just wouldn't break.

Fords are very reliable but they do cut corners on build quality as for Vauxhall well there a bag a *hite.

Already changed our Jazz - was waiting for HR-V but staggered by price of it.  Saw a good deal on VW Tiguan so bought one of those.

It's Mrs R's car really - she's delighted with it.

I looked forward eagerly to the Mk3 Jazz, but having seen the negative comments I will stick for a while to my ex-demo Hybrid which is top of the range with all the extras like rear spoiler, blue courtesy floor lights etc.
Remains to be seen if the new model is is reliable as previous versions. I will be monitoring the forum for any reports of faults.
I would leave Honda with some reluctance having previously owned Civics, a Prelude and an Accord, but if I did I have always fancied the Audi A3 Sportback which has rave reviews in the motoring press.

there will be many good deals on VW / Audi group cars as they struggle to shift them,  the bottom just fell out of VW world.

Some people will only consider you an expert if they agree with your point of view or advice,  when you give them advice they don't like they consider you an idiot

So glad I didn't choose a VW. Depreciation is bad as it is without them making it worse.

Yes, my timing wasn't great!  But we got a very good deal even before the news came out.  Comments on the VW forums suggest they're not slashing prices yet - I think VW sell pretty well worldwide anyway, most models are built to order and still on quite long delivery times.   We usually keep cars for 5 years ish so anything could happen in that time.

I've thought about the new GK Jazz but the UK car is not the best value for money and doesn't have the same equipment levels as the Japanese Fit.

I may go back to an import for my next car.

I cannot see the new Jazz justifies its price- it is inferior to its competitors in too many respects.. A Subaru Grovel - sorry Levorg - beckons.

That will be because dealerships cannot sell any of the affected cars until they have been sorted out.
