Locking wheel nuts
« on: October 19, 2015, 04:34:45 PM »
Just been told by the garage that the socket for the locking wheel nuts is missing - anyone know where you can get a replacement whatever it is? Its a 2012  CVT. Must admit I didn't even knew it had locking nuts as there's nothing about that in the book.

Go to honda and get them to remove the locking nuts and then purchase a new set.

My locking wheel nut key lives here in the glove box as in attached picture- yours may be loose in glovebox/car/ boot/ spare wheel well . It will save you £30 odd if you can find it.

I once had a problem with one locking nut on my wife C-Max that it just kept on slipping and hence we were not able to change the wheel.

I'd called out a wheel repair guy who effectively "knocked out" the locking nut and then I had to replace the whole set.

Think he charged about £20 and I'd spent another £30-40 (cant remember) on a new set of McGuard locking nuts

Garage rang back - they'd found a doofer to fit that someone else had bought and then found the original - so they sold it me at cost at £7.  can't say fairer than that... and changing the brake fluid has sorted out the snatching brakes - and they charged my half of what Honda was going to as well.  Sometimes local garages are pretty good...
