Abs vs garage door

But of a funny one this.  Pulled into my drive the other day applied brakes and the abs activated took my foot off applied again and abs activated.     

Obviously when the abs is buzzing the break pedal back up towards you you have no stopping power and I went straight through the garage door!!!!   Up to the rear doors

Luckily not much damage although the neighbour that was stood there did say " it will go in easier if you open the door!!"

Could this be a faulty sensor I've had it so it a couple of time and it seems to be after turning left

I've check fluid and it's fine and the drive wasn't icy or wet.    Just a bit worried as I do 100miles a day in this thing and its a bit un nerving.   I've looked at all the sensors and they are visually ok and all plugged in

Well the last thing you want to be doing is taking your foot off the brake if the abs is activating keep it pressed.

Strange one as you say the surface wasn't wet or icy.

And if the car isn't going to stop on the pedal, there is always the handbrake...

its just weird that with my foot pressed down on the pedal there was no stopping at all just the pedal buzzing my drive way is probably about 10 meters long so I thought I would have another go on the break

admittedly not using the hadbrake was a bad choice. I was avoiding other halfs civic so the garage took one for the team luckily the door popped off its hinges and flipped inside

My neighbour drove through his garage door, but it was not ABS, it was caused by alcohol

My uncle drove through his garage door and out through the wall at the other end!! He was in an automatic Jaguar.

It was Parkinsons.

Spoke to garage and they said most likely pump/ecu fault causing it to think there's a skid and removing all the brakes.    I have decide to not use it for a while after it repeating it on the motorway with just a slight touch of the breaks. 

It must be activating it on all 4 wheels as there is no deceleration at all

I put a land-rover into a tree from something similar.  Was reversing up a slight slope.  Put my foot onto the brake and the pedal pulsates and the car did not stop until the tree stopped it.

my ABS is every sensitive to where loose gravel can cause it to go off but once in the clear it soon switches off!
