I never seen any taxi smaller then a Vectra/Mondeo/Octavia

No advantage in using a diesel car then?

I didn't realise that cars (other than black cabs) had to be 'designed' to be taxis, there aren't many cars on the road that last longer and are capable of doing more miles than a Honda (how many Hondas do you see in a scrapyard?), so why not use the jazz as a Taxi - it has a decent amount of passenger space and a reasonably large boot.

It's all in the way you drive, and no-one says that all taxis have to be driven like F1 cars, by maniacs who have scant regard for other road users.

Good on you narcis, hope you do well with your TaxiJazz.
Some people will only consider you an expert if they agree with your point of view or advice,  when you give them advice they don't like they consider you an idiot

Culzean....with respect....i have just retired after 43 years in the taxi industry and used both ordinary saloon cars and black cabs also the new style diesel people carriers.
In my scope of public hire work the saloon cars were all 1600cc or above and did an average of 100,000 miles per year fully loaded most of the time this was done with a double shift of two drivers earning a living with that vehicle over a 24 hour period........i cant legislate for the needs of private hire taxis who maybe dont do that sort of mileage maybe the Jazz would be OK for that type of work. But i like the jazz i have although it is primarily my wife's car and i only get to drive it if we go out for shopping trips and short journeys.....i do coordinate a forum for my car which is totally different, and makes me appreciate the Jazz.........Joe :)

First of all the Honda's reliabilty made me buy a Jazz, and I am sure I will be enjoying many many miles of trouble free motoring with my little Jazz. And what car would be more suited for the heavy duty usage other than a Honda?
I work as an independent taxi driver so I take great care of my car and in one year I cover about 40k km,so the car will not be used like the ones with the drivers doing 24 hour shifts

Most taxi here are Skoda's.

When Car Magazine drove the new Skoda Superb they dressed one up as a taxi. Skoda UK were not amused and cancelled the long-term Superb Car magazine was due to have for six months.

Skoda should be grateful. Big cars without premium badges struggle to sell. Skoda is lucky to have the taxi market outside of London cornered as few private buyers would buy a Superb brand new.
