hi members, does anyone know if the original battery on a Honda jazz .  needs topping  up it has lines for high level  and lower level, but it  has a light indicator to tell you if the  battery is OK that's why i thought it was a sealed battery. Dave.

I tried topping ours up but it did not make a huge difference, i just bought a new bosch 054 and had done with it, about £42, but as i didnt have the radio code had to be carefull that i didnt loose the connection by using a set of jump leads so the car was always connected.

The battery can be topped up if necessary but I have found after seven years no water loss and no problems with holding charge.

Might change it later this year..........just to be on the safe side............

I think most batteries these days are considered maintenance-free but obviously you can still access the cells and top up with water.

I think the best you can do for a modern car battery is to get yourself a decent battery conditioner/charger that will make sure it is in top condition all the time. Particularly if you are like us and do mostly short journeys where the battery doesnt' get charged properly.

The one I have is the CTEK MXS-5.0, not cheap but its very good.
