Auto Gearbox is stiff to move
« on: April 02, 2014, 06:59:55 PM »
Have had my Jazz stand up for a short while, and started using it again to find the gearbox is stiff to move into a drive, so wondered what it could be? :(

Any suggestions please?

I'll have stab.

Selector lever cables not operating silky smooth?

Wander down this troubleshooting list: http://www.hondafitjazz.com/manual/A00/HTML/M2/SAA2EM2E15100000000HBAT00.HTML

and very near the bottom of the page there is the symptom "Shift lever does not operate smoothly" along with possible causes and notes.

Do I get free coffee for my Bialetti?  ;D

Same here.  Honda garage were not very helpful - "never seen that before!"

As soon as the temperature rises  (reached 20C today) the lever becomes very stiff to move.  In the winter it is normal.
I have an iShift 2009 1.4 EX Model.  Probably about my only complaint.
