There are 'adhesive' and 'abrasive' pads. Honda use abrasive pads to give good all weather / temperature braking performance. Pads can last 30 to 40K and discs probably maybe twice that. Adhesive pads put a sort of coating on the disc, and disc may last longer. But the best are probably abrasive as they keep cleaning the disc, but the discs may not last as long. Abrasive pads give stable performance across a wide temperature range but produce dust, adhesive pads do not produce dust but are probably more choosy about temperature, best all round reliable choice would have to be abrasive.
I did have a bad experience with 'blueprint' (supposed to be OEM spec, and not cheap) discs and pads, they appeared to be Adhesive and I had nothing but trouble with them, ended up taking them off and getting proper Honda discs and pads.
