I have just purchased a new Honda Jazz Si (registered September 2013) and this model is fitted with both immobiliser and perimeter alarm (according to the 2013 brochure). However, trying out my key to gain access to the car on the driver's door, not using the remote, turning the key does not disengage the lock. I can only seem to open the car with the remote button. Also, according to the manual, even attempting to use the key on the door would set of the alarm (horn and indicators) but this does not happen. I assume this is a fault or is this not the case? The only other thing I can think of is that the electronic immobiliser deactivates the key rim door lock unless the battery dies? Any ideas please? ps On enquiring to the dealership today on the 'phone at first they thought it was intentional and then thought it was a fault. So a third opinion would be welcomed.
