will a 3 button key fob work on Jazz???
« on: May 03, 2013, 08:22:59 AM »
Hi there,

Sorry I probably had post loads of post recently. I bought a 56 Jazz sport last week and it only had 1 keys.

I know the number for the fob should be 0891. I saw the same fob for sell on ebay but it had 3 buttons (with the button to open the tailgate)

Will that work on the jazz and had anyone tried it before?

many thanks.

If the lock/unlock does work, the tailgate release button probably wouldnt work since there is no remote (and by that I mean 'not connected') trigger release for the boot solenoid.

I'm sure the lock and unlock buttons will program ok.

I don't think the tailgate release button will work, and if you come to sell the car, someone will question why one remote has 2 buttons and the other has 3.

I'd suggest you bid on this one.

I got you point but i think the one you send will not work on jazz.

it look exactly the same but there are two as far as i aware. this is a different one.

I will look out for another one as it is not much in the market.

Just a quick one. if I want to program 2 fob I can do so on the one yet i got? (what i mean is that I don't need to stuck both key to ignition as I want to program it before getting the key cut rather than get it all cut and found out it is not programmable.)

Thanks.

I don't think that number makes much of a difference.
Otherwise the following would also work on your car wouldn't it?

Perhaps I'm wrong. You'll need to buy one to find out.

There are instructions on how to program the fob on this site.
The key will not have to be cut on the new fob for it to work the central locking as far as I'm aware.

Anyone still active on this thread?

I'm new here so please bear with me! Just bought a 2007 1.2 and trying to work about retrofitting keyless entry.

I wondered if it could be as simple as the penultimate poster on the following (even older!) thread suggests, or have I misunderstood?

Hi,  The 1.2 models were never fitted with remote locking and the honda system cannot be fitted easily
and would be rather expensive. An after market system like Toad etc would be the simpler and cheaper route.
