Child seats...
« on: March 24, 2013, 09:37:21 PM »
Has anyone had any experience getting a child seat to fit properly in a 2006 1.4se?
I have a britax king plus which fitted well in a previous car, but gets what i hear is called "buckle crunch" where the buckle gets caught up in the seat base when you pull it tight. An excruciating trip to mothercare yielded the conclusion that all the belt up seats get the dreaded crunch which is unsafe as it is a weak point in a crash. I thought I was being upsold to the isofix type, but we couldnt get them in either as the upholstery obstructed the isofix points so as to make them redundant.

I think that the seat belt buckles are extended too high as standard and that it may be a design quirk...so now I have a great little practical car that I can't get a car seat to fit in properly!

Help!

I currently have the Graco Nautilus Car Seat which is held by the seat belt. Seems ok and fairly solid.

Not sure what you mean by 'buckle crunch'? I just fed the seat belt through the car seat as per instructions - job done.

If you want a more secure rock solid fixing then Isofix is the way to go.

yeah, had no problems fixing mine, except niggle with steep seat angle, need to put extra padding to maintain horizontal level.

BTW, did anyone try to fit Recaro Polaric into Jazz?
