Drivers door window

Hi Jazz owners. I have a problem with my Jazz. Well, not mine. My partners. She left my house the other day, but before pulling off she put the drivers side window down and it would'nt go back up. Fuses are fine. I took the door apart to see if I could see any obvious problems but couldn't see any. The motor makes a slight tick when I press the down button but nothing happens when up is tried. I took the track and motor out as one unit and chocked the window up for now. I did try to pull the window up manually before removing the motor but it wouldn't move.

Maybe it is jammed in the slide, so the impact sensing prevents the motor from operating.  Its a strip job to take off the door innards to see what has occurred

This is a bit of a long shot but our Jazz had recall on one of the window switches. The upgrade was free by the dealer. It might be worth checking if your car needed it and if it was done. However it does sound as though the motor is trying to move. Horrible job fiddling around in the door, good luck.

How do you remove the interior door panel from the front passenger's (left hand) door? I need to replace the plastic outer cover of the mirror.

We had a similar problem with our Jazz.  Window would start to go up, then head back down as if the safety no-chopping-off-arms-detector was being triggered.  Just figured that it was dirt inside the door triggering it.  With a bit of help (holding the window and guiding it gently as it went up) it got past the 'trigger' level and then continued the rest of the way up on its own.

Not a perfect solution, but a cheap one :)

I had this problem with my Jazz a while ago.
The car was going in for one of the recalls so I mentioned it on delivery.
When the car came back I was told the windows were OK now.
They had squirted WD40 down the side runners,worked the window up and down a few times,job done. They did all the windows.No charge.
No problems since.
