polished through clear coat

someone scratched my car so i was polishing it out and when i finished i had a lighter patch and im getting blue paint on my rag

it i put some clear laquer on would it bring the shine back ?

No, the clear coat has been breached.  Here, where the sun is fierce for months on end, any damage like that spreads rapidly and it starts to look like a skin complaint

A car body-repairer should be able to blend in some clear coat over the patch that is damaged.  That would be the longer-lasting solution

 i hope he can blend the clear coat in and not have to repaint that area

we don't get much sun here in the uk lol

i was using some finishing compound which worked well on my civic but was obviously too harsh for the jazz

i started and ended with autoglym which i should have stuck too  :(

im going to the bodyshop tomorrow to get a quote for the job prob £130 or so it will be at least ill get rid of the key scratch someone put on it as well as my over polish
