Just had the gearbox bearings replaced in  a 2005 Jazz i.4 dsi sport,  was recommended a guy at Eccles Gearbox Centre in Manchester! took it on the Thursday at lunch time! it was done and  he replaced  2 bearings all done and back together by  Late Friday afternoon! brilliant he knew what he was doing and he was the best price.  :D  0161 707 7339

Oh and did he use genuine Honda bearings. Why didn't he replace all 7 thats in the pack. Did he replace the clutch as well whilst it was down at that stage. If he didn't use Honda bearings which ones did he use. Thanks.

Unfortunately i know how much the bearing pack costs but unless you stike it lucky with honda its not labour free. I presumed the original post guy was not labour free.

What made you realise certain bearings in the gearbox needed replacing?  I have only had one car where the gearbox gave trouble and that was an Alfa Romeo Spyder in the 70's.  In reverse, it made a clonk sound and stopped.

He charged me £350 all done.

Thanks for this. I work near to Eccles and appreciate you passing the details on. Good to know should the worst ever happen :)
