Personally I dont see any point unless its a K20 engine you've got in the Jazz.

However, be interesting to see your findings if you go ahead and get one done.

Really honestly wouldn't mind it to be honest just to say its been done really, get a decent intake aswell and some other performance mods just to make it nippier as putting my air filter on and exhaust and feels like it has more power to be honest!

I am not sure how the engine management system determines the fuel and ignition on the Jazz but my thoughts would be you will not better the standard map unless the engine is extensively modified.

I would not think you will get any gains from re mapping unless you have really changed the fuelling and ignition requirements of the engine.

You need to determine where the restriction is in the engine. Is it the exhaust? Induction? Then your best gains will be removing it.

Fitfreak.com will probably have loads of info if you can be bothered to trawl through it all. It is a bit of information overload over there.

A dyno tune is going to set you back about £350.

Heard about someone who tried to get Jazz 'remapped' and ended up 'bricking' the ECU.   :D

Does anyone know of anyways of boosting a bit of power on my jazz? Bricking it what do you mean?

Bricking ......... My guess would be knackered, broken, bust etc

x2.

As John says, there is very little point in remapping your Jazz in it's current form.
I had a Dastek piggyback ECU fitted and mapped on my old Civic EP2. With just intake and exhaust mods, i didn't gain anything worthwhile from the map.
However after making my own custom intake manifold and fitting that to the car, they managed to tune it up nicely. In stock form the car produced 108bhp, but after modifying the complete intake and exhaust system and getting it re-mapped i saw 135bhp (25% more power than stock).

Unless you are drastically changing how the engine performs, you won't need a re-map.
The stock ECU will adjust fuelling to the optimum ratio itself if you only change simple things like an air filter or cat-back exhaust system.

Steve.

Lets be honest, if you want more power options > Buy the american L15 and import, Put a B or K series in, Buy a new car.
The L13 is not worth remapping itll just destroy your performance and mpg, Ive seen it mentioned on fitfreaks before that mechanics have advised members the 8valve engine is NOT worth modifying, if you want to modify an engine one put a 16valve in.

I would love to find a way to increase low end grunt as its rubbish!
Top end is Ok - I am not looking for a super car or anything but it is
just dead in the water at low revs and can be embarrassing.
Having max torque at 4800 is madness - the wider the gap between
torque and BHP the better the  useful power range becomes
I think the newer model may have helpful gearing with the 6 speed -
the gap between 1st and 2nd is a little much so on a hill you pull away change
up and it dies and I sometimes have had to change back down and thrash it in
first before selecting 2nd
If modifying the air intake increased torque I would do it - but I suspect it just helps the power a little
