Hi im thinking of putting a tint on my jazz, on two rear doors and the back window 50% tint maybe or a bit lighter.  Has anyone tried to tint their jazz before, is it worth buying a pre cut tints and install it bymyself or let garage do it..any info,,,thanks :P

I have no experience of tints on my Jazz. I did, however, have them on my previous two cars. I fitted one myself, using rolls of film. It ended up with bubbles; no matter how well I tried to prevent them. I then had some pre-cut pieces installed by a professional and the difference was striking.
Have you also considered professional spray tints?

I think it varies. If you do the spraying yourself, depending on consistency and amount used. I do think it is best to go professional. If you are willing to pay a premium for a professional tint, it would undoubtedly be worth it. Their finish is virtually indistinguishable from factory tinted glass. They claim to last longer than the majority of DIY films and sprays.
Let me know what you choose, I'd be interested to see what the end result is. My Jazz could potentially do with some now!  :D

Is a 50% tint legal?
I think there are regs covering this. Yes, there are. Have a look here!

Good find there.  ;)

Yes, 50% tints are legal on any of the rear windows. You could even go full limo style if you so wish.  8)

I'm 99% sure that the current law states that you are not permitted to apply any tinting film to the front windows (only clear security film), but it is sometimes possible for you to add a light smoke tint to the front windows and still stay within the limits. This obviously depends on the amount of tint that the car has in the first place though.

I've seen people on those traffic Police documentaries (funny enough in Range Rover Sports!) getting pulled over by the Police for illegal tints forward of the B-pillar. The Police made them peel off the film at the roadside.

It looks like that the VOSA guideline is a bit vague considering different type of tints say a limo style tint, 505 or 35% tints on the car.   Now the light that coming through inside the car is hardly be identified when it comes to percentage. I think the guidelelines that the agency is trying to say is for the drivers safety in which he could see clearly what is behind or on the side of the car.., in short the tints dont hinder the drivers all around vision. Im goin for 35% tinnts isnt bad enough even on winter weather.

You must have at least 75% light transmitting through the driver and passenger door window.
All windows behind the B pillar, can be as dark as you like.

When i first purchased my Civic, i had a "light smoke" tint applied to the front door windows, and a "medium" tint applied to everything behind the B pillar.
It was just dark enough to reduce glare and heat, but without looking chavy, lol.
