Torque Converter Problems?
« on: October 09, 2011, 04:03:44 PM »
hey all,

my wife owns a 2007 1.4 i-DSI automatic, which she inherited from her mum. she also had a 1.4 53 plate beforehand too. since getting the newer one, we've noticed it doesn't hold on the hills in drive mode compared to the older one. it also seems to rev a lot higher in the gears comparing to the older one too.

does anyone know if these are symptoms of a failing torque converter, or are the newer jazz's not built as well as before?

my father-in-law and i checked the T.C's fluid level and topped it up, but still the same.

many thanks for any help

I didn't think that the CVT automatic transmission had a torque convertor.Doesn't it use an electro/magnetic clutch system?
