I have a second set of wheels fitted with winter legal all season tyres. I bought them so I could be winter legal for continental road trips.  I fitted them last monday, largely because of press reports that the UK metrological office has issued an exceptional 'polar Vortex' warning for next week.  The newspapers had jazzed up their reports with library photos of snow bound roads etc.   I avoided reading the 'click bait' reports'  but later did so and it clearly said Snow is unlikely, except maybe in the Scottish Highlands.  >:(  Never mind.  Winter rated  tyres remain more flexible than summer tyres in cold weather, and have the advantage ,even on dry roads, when the temperature drops below +7c.   Which is forecast. I will also convert my screen wash to winter mix.

But I learned  a salutary lesson . While I was storing away the summer wheels I accidently knocked over a stack of workshop storage bins ,spilling some large bolts onto the garage floor. Had the car been in the garage it may have been damaged.  :o  My storage was not as securely  stowed  as I had thought   :-[ It wont take many claims for such damage to increase premiums.

My IQ test came back negative

I just got a quote from LV and keeping the car in a garage is £5.60 (1.5%) cheaper than keeping it on the drive.  You decide :).
