Just a wild idea, not a real-world scenario:
I want to store that future car in our garage for, say, 6 (or maybe 8?) months. Beforehand, I’ll charge the HV battery to 100% (since it’s LFP). How many times do you think that 18 (eighteen) kWh in the HV battery could recharge the 12-volt battery before the petrol engine needs to kick in to top it up...?

Just a wild response: Why on earth would you care to buy a new car in order to store it for 6 or 8 months?
(and - as you have a garage - why not simply hook up a CTEK-charger to the 12V battery for this prolonged time?)

Of course, we wouldn't just leave our car sitting in the garage for six or eight months—at least not without a reason, such as a serious illness or something similar.
This was merely meant as a hypothetical example of what that car would survive (and how) without (starting) problems.
And yes, we do have a battery charger (though not a CTEK...), but we’ve never used it; the Jazz's battery hasn't needed it once in over five years.

Of course, I respect the fact that you’re happy with your choice of the Jazz—why wouldn’t I...?
But:
Our Honda Jazz is now just over five years old; we usually keep a car for about four and a half to five years before looking for a new one. That might not be the most financially prudent approach, but we enjoy the experience of driving a brand-new car again.
The Jazz didn't miss a beat during those five years and served us excellently. So, under normal circumstances, a new Jazz would be the top contender for a replacement.
Unfortunately, Honda isn't doing well at all here in Poland. The dealership in our hometown of Toruń (population nearly 200,000) has closed down, as has the one 45 kilometers away in Bydgoszcz (population 325,000). The nearest dealership is now 130 km away (one way!) in Poznań—a bit of a hassle for maintenance during the warranty period (which is currently eight years).
On top of that, only the Jazz Elegance and Jazz Crosstar models are available here—no Advance or Advance Sport...

I had already spent some time looking into that Chinese B-segment plug-in hybrid:
the BYD Dolphin G DM-i. For us—since we drive short distances frequently and have a garage under our apartment with its own dedicated power circuit and meter—this looks like an attractive option. Charging very cheaply using off-peak electricity means very cheap driving.

After extensive test drives in the Toyota Yaris Cross 130 Executive and the Renault Clio Hybrid 160 Esprit Alpine, we headed to the BYD dealer here in town.
There it was: the Dolphin G DM-i in bright orange
, in the 'Comfort' trim. We took a good look at it and concluded: it looks pretty impressive, especially with that large panoramic roof (which comes as standard!). We decided to go inside. We received all the information we wanted, got to examine the car thoroughly—both inside and out—and were pleasantly surprised!
Not bad at all, that "Chinese"
!
So, we took it for a test drive. Upon our return, we looked at each other and nodded: we were completely sold. Especially considering that this car is significantly cheaper than the Toyota and Renault models in (somewhat) comparable trim levels!
It’s arriving in late November; until then, we’ll happily keep driving our Jazz. This wasn't the first Jazz we’ve thoroughly enjoyed, but for the reasons mentioned above, it won't be replaced by another Jazz...
