Is it too simplistic to say that if a hybrid runs in EV  mode for maybe 25% of the time, if the car has done a total of 56K miles the ICE itself has only done the equivalent of  42K miles?

I think it is more important, that the Honda e:HEV drive train mostly keeps the ICE at predefined "optimal" load levels. This cannot be compared with a conventional ICE car, where the engine has to provide power at all times - probably even mostly under less than optimal conditions.

Today our 72' plate EX with 42,360 miles had it's 4th service (of it's 5 year plan).
We did decide to have the AC checked/cleaned/re-gassed, as we use it constantly at the moment and I also wanted to see how the condenser was holding up. They charged me £89, and everything was good. Something else less to stress about further down the line.
I had asked prior to the service about the brake simulator, but as it is still showing no recall for my car it wasn't deemed necessary at this time. Fair do.
Everything else checked out, the engine oil/filter and transmission fluid (along with the wiper solution) were all replaced. The electric battery passed on all points, and is still at optimum performance. The TOYO tyres I replaced the YOKOs with have done 11,000 miles and are only just shading under the 6mm mark at each corner. Brake wear is at 35%, which is phenomenally good for a 40k + mileage car.
So, I am happy and the car is good for another years driving.

Really no problem with the recommended C5 0w/20 lubricant. I choose to change mine every six months/5000miles with C5 508/509 spec oil which fulfils the C5 0w/20 requirement but with a very strong additive package, overkill probably, but my choice for hopefully a long trouble free life.
