Little background, we have decided that our Renault Clio Hybrid 2024 has to go. There is too much "binging and bonging" for our sanity. each time you get in you can disable some of it, but not all of it. I find the tech intrusive and the display dangerous. We also do not like being tied into the dealers for all repairs. It is ok whilst under warranty but thin that nowadays you have to "replace" rather than repair.
So we decided to get an "old school" car, hence the Jazz. It is a 1.4 CVT EX, 80,000 miles, with a reasonable service history.
My impression after a couple of days and about 100 miles.
- Its very sluggish, maybe I am not used to the CVT and it needs more throttle.
The ride is quite good but a bit noisy on the motorway.
The steering feels vague.
I am about to drain the CVT fluid and change that tomorrow.
Same with the air and cabin filter.
Even though there is a good service record from Honda dealers, I don't know when the spark plugs were last changed.
The oil is clean and the oil filter is new I will leave that later in the year.
Will also flush the brake fluid and change the coolant.
The idea is to replace things over the next few months to make sure the car will last a good few years.
Any suggestions on what you think are important thing to check or replace?
