Hopefully, the new warranty boosts their sales.
If you ask me, extending the warranty from 3 to 8 years—given Honda's current situation in Europe—looks like a desperate attempt to escape a precarious and virtually irreversible predicament.
They probably should have done that ten years ago, before buyers and dealers (our nearest one is now 81 miles away... one way!) gave up on the brand.
For instance, there are only 9 (nine!) dealers left in the Netherlands, whereas here in Poland there are still 16 remaining, plus a number of "service points."
And just look at that new Chinese brand BYD: already 22 dealers in the Netherlands; in Poland, 29 operational dealers by June 1, 2026, with a target of 60 (sixty!) by the end of 2026.
It is a real shame

to see things going this way for Honda in Europe. We are genuinely happy with our Jazz and were pleased with the dealer too (until we discovered they had simply vanished...).
Unfortunately, our next car won't be a Honda....
