Is the MK4 seat better
« on: June 10, 2026, 02:57:17 PM »
Driving to Tesco I thought I would keep my MK3
But
But driving back I thought I would have to get a MK4
The seat was hurting the bottom of my thigh on my left leg
So the question is are the MK4 seats better

I think there more comfortable personally.
They feel more padded than my MK3 ones were and bolsters seem better.

How car seats feel is very personal and therefore different for everyone.
No one can tell edam how (un)comfortable he will sit in a Jazz Mk4 or any other car.
There is only one proper way to find out how you sit in a particular car (seat): A long test drive!
If nothing goes right, go left!

When I got my Mk. 4 I discovered that with the seat set to a comfortable height then I was getting pressure on the backs of my thighs. The fix was to lower the seat and use a cushion https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0C784NYKX. I'm still happy with it over a year later.

It is pressure on the back of my left thigh so if the mk4 has the same problem ???

The cushion is no help as I need the seat as low as possible to get into the car so any additional height does not help. Thanks anyway

The back of thigh issue seems a common issue on long journeys

The only car I had that solved this was my Lexus IS200. That had full electric seats and I could safely adjust the squab angle whilst driving and put more or less pressure on my thigh by raising or lowering just the seat front edge, which made a huge difference
Let's be careful out there !

There are various different seat designs on the Mk 4 depending on the model, eg the Sport and Crosstar have their own designs different from the other models so I would try all of them out if that's an important feature for you.

Is your Mk 3 an auto?

I have personally found the Jazz to be very comfortable, especially on long journeys. I have had a hip replacement, and my other one needs doing at some point.. but the Jazz certainly doesn't aggravate it at all. We have regularly done 200 milers, and apart from the odd shifting about in the seat during a trip it is certainly not uncomfortable.
