HONDA JAZZ SE security spec
« on: May 27, 2026, 04:27:55 AM »
Hello,

I'm seeking out some car insurance quotes as apparently car insurance premiums have reduced a little.

I'm asked to input details of the car security, and realised I'm not quite sure what CAT/spec my car's security falls under. Moneysupermarket assumes it has a Thatcham Approved Cat 2 alarm.

Does anyone know if it have a CAT 1/2 alarm/immobiliser?

(I'm based in the UK).

Thank you!

You can, if you feel strong enough, consult documents like this one …
https://www.thatcham.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/February-26-OE.pdf
… and try to work out exactly what your car is fitted with. But it’s a little tricky to interpret. For example, the Jazz isn’t specifically listed in the first table as having a Cat 1 system, but apparently all Honda models do; however the Jazz is specifically listed in the second table as having a Cat 2 immobilizer, which seems superfluous if it has a Cat 1 system.

But surely you don’t need to get down into these weeds? Provided you tell insurers that your car is a standard spec and hasn’t been modified, they will know (from a database containing the data in that document) what features it has.

Hi Dan,
So, straight from the horses mouth as it were, is the Mk.3, a cat.1 or a 2?, and for a “Brucie Bonus”,
how about my Mk.4?  Thanks.
