Having spent a month or two reading snippets in this forum I have decided to take the plunge and sign up as I know that the experience and knowhow within will be very useful!
Having previously owned 2 x Mk1 Honda Fit (Flex) models, I knew how good and versatile a vehicle the Jazz was. Having returned to the UK I found and bought a low mileage (38k) Jazz ES + 1.4 IVTEC, I did not want a new hybrid, something as analogue as possible whilst benefitting from modern economy figures would do me fine.
I have not been disappointed, having had the car for 5 months it's running beautifully 51.3mpg after
2,000 miles of mixed driving and now that we are out of winter mpg is continuing to improve.
It is the 5 speed manual but it's very low geared, 5th gear from 30mph (on the level) and I always feel it would benefit from a 6th gear when in high speed cruise! My previous experience with the earlier Mk 1 was purely city driving so I didn't encounter the high speed cruise and I have to get acclimatized to such a high revving engine!
Amazingly for an 11 year old car there is absolutely no rust and all the peripherals are functioning correctly.
