« on: April 24, 2026, 08:42:45 PM »
hi all. Please can someone tell me how to change the bulb here? The one that's above the main headlight? And what's that called? Sidelight?

If you mean the little bulb some call it a side light, others call it a position lamp.

This video shows how to change a sidelight/position bulb .You can find similar videos on you tube for changing a headlight bulb.      Unfortunately it does involve accessing via the wheel arch liner. And thats the 'easy' method. I think the 'official' way is to remove the entire front bumper. :o

The Jazz is not alone  these days in front bulb replacement being a bit of a palaver. In these cases the drivers handbook may not show how to change the bulb  but just  recommend having it done by a dealership. >:(    Places like Halfords that may offer a bulb fitting service at low cost may charge extra for more  complex cases..  But as the video shows it can be done as a DIY job. .

If possible have  some replacment 'plugs'  available before starting the job   as they sometimes break. And the correct bulb  :D  If the car in the video  appears to differ from yours maybe do some more research before starting as access may be completely different .(and easier)

Good luck  :D

oh my, I've got no chance with that. The car is due for MOT soon so maybe I'll let the garage sort it.  ;D

Its not that hard, you just have to do it once and then you are good to go. In your case turn the wheel all the way to left and take out 3-4 clips holding the inner fender. (Small flat tip screwdriver is your friend) There is no need to take out the whole fender, you just need enough the squeeze your hand inside.

Afterwards its all about your hand, you gotta do it by feel. Peek there first to see where things are and dont be afraid.

To be honest, my left side headlight started malfunctioning recently, so i will have to do it aswell  :D

Oh yes. That is a pain for the owners Honda has built into many different models. I'm currently trying to gain enough motivation to change that bulb in my wife's CRV.

I think the filament inside the bulb is on the edge of breaking, for now a good slap on the headlight fixes it :D. Oh well

it's not too bad, you can do it by feel, just remember to rotate it (i think anti clockwise) to get it out, then you can pull the cable down wioth the bulb and take the bulb out and then place it back and rotate it

the main headlight is much more of a pain because it's harder to get the spring in imo
