Honda Jazz 1.4l DIY spark plug rep[lacement

Anyone undertaken this 5 minute job themselves , all these 1.4l engines have 8 spark plugs.
Most of the DIY feautres the 1.5 VTEC 4 cyl engines -  a real 5 min job

Not actually done it myself yet, but the owners manual does go into all the steps necessary to complete this easy task

Correct I finished the job - all 8 plugs changed in 30 mins - most of the time spent finding the right lenght of extension bar for the rear spark plugs-  best to unclip (3) the loom for the rear coils this then allows greater access to the rear sparkplugs, I decided to remove all 4 rear coils then the plugs in turn before replacing.
another tidy job completed, everthing fitted as you would expect, with new sparplugs + the new air filter our Jazz ran must quiter and the engine was smoother than before.
On the readout it shows  - 51.6 mpg.

Next to replace the front disc pads.

Just like to add a comment for anyone replacing their own spark plugs on any alloy head engine (which is 99.9% of cars now) always smear some hi-temp anti-sieze copa-slip grease (in tubes or sachets from Halfords etc) onto the thread of the new plugs before fitting them - if you have ever had a plug thread sieze into a cylinder head, and the trouble and expense it can cause you will know why.

Also refer to fitting instructions that come with the plug and don't overtighten the plugs, its the compressible washer that seals the plug, not brute force - hand tighten the plugs and then just 1/2 to 2/3 of a turn more with the wrench is all thats needed.

From experience I have found NGK plugs are the best for Honda engines, and have never had an issue with them. NGK have a website that may help with any queries.
