I do not think mk3 has daytime running lights. It does have automatic lights: if the switch is on ‘auto’, the lights come on automatically when it is getting dark. Sounds normal to me; shopping usually takes long  :D

This mark 3 does have running lights nxt to the front fog lights on EX model  unfortunately the are having little game with us.
The comment about the length of time taken to do my shopping  is childish and uncalled for.

I do not think mk3 has daytime running lights.

Yes, they all do, they come on automatically when the engine is started and should stay on all the time. There are some circumstances when they go off, for example if the headlights are on (either manually or automatically). Not sure if they stay on when the foglights are on (my car doesn't have front fogs). On some cars, where the turn indicators are very close to the DRLs, the DRL dims or goes out when a turn is being signalled but I don't think this applies to the Jazz. I guess that's not much help, sorry!

As others already mentioned, all GK Jazzes have DRLs, so during driving there is always either DRLs or headlights on. And just as you mentioned, auto headlights switch on when there is dark enough or if you use windshield wipers for a moment.

Off position of the light switch is spring loaded and goes back to auto when released. Off has any meaning only when the car is stationary and parking brake is on. Otherwise it is always automatic.

Time flies when you have fun. Applies shopping as well as e.g. dining.  ;D

There have been a couple of posts recently where the OP has taken offence to the reply. (I shall post this on both.)

Either from those who have not had the problem, or dont see how it would affect  their own driving habits  Such comments might come across as dismissive . Or injecting a bit of humour   into a valid suggestion that it might be due to a change in light level.

In both cases the original poster was probably anxious about their problem and how to fix it  and may have taken the comments personally.

I know that when I try to pass on stuff  I have learned  over the years, or my recent fanciful ideas  I sometimes state the obvious,  and explain it in great detail, which some will find insults their intelligence. While others ,especially new drivers, might actually learn something new. .

And of course, each to their own.  Some will hate certain driver aids, steering interventions, buzzers ,tech etc. (or their absence) whereas others either tolerate and get used to them or welcome them.   Each  are entitled to post their own opinions, and how it affects them.

But I'm conscious that  anyone reading the forum with a view  to buying a Jazz or worried about moving on to a mk4 because of its high tech clever tricks  shouldnt only read negative opinions.  If I have a more positive opinion I will often add it.
My IQ test came back negative
