Cigarette lighter port help
« on: November 23, 2025, 11:14:21 AM »
Hi all. I have a Honda Jazz 2008 GD chassis.

I bought a usb charger to put in the cigarette lighter port however it doesn’t work.

The cigarette lighter does work because it heats up the actual cigarette lighter thing.

I assume it’s just the usb charger I bought doesn’t work in the cigarette lighter port. Does anyone know any usb chargers that do work on my model of car?

Does your USB charger work in a different car?

Did you make sure the charger was firmly pushed into the socket?  I find a number of my various plugs can work loose and lose electrical connection.  I've had to stick some velcro on some plugs, to make a 'tight' fit into the socket.

Honda have always seemed to install quite deep power sockets

I had a range of USB chargers, some worked, some didn't because they didn't reach the bottom
Let's be careful out there !

As the socket is a cigarette lighter and that works it may be that your usb adapter is hitting the cigarette lighter support contacts, you may need to bend them out of the way, this will mean the cigarette lighter won’t work anymore as it won’t stay in.
