Cannot remove parcel shelf

That's it really.  Friend was upgrading and gifted us her old Jazz 2007. At handover the parcel shelf was out and she said it was a bit tricky. I managed to put it in OK later, but since then it won't come out. The sliding bottom bar works and I presume you slide and lift somehow. There are no clips, strings, other fastenings or broken bits that I can see. We used to have a Vauxhall Tourer and the Jazz parcel shelf looks identical. Just can't shift it. Any clues?

Front Section: 
  The shelf is spring-loaded. Gently pull it towards you, then lift it upwards. This releases the front edge.

Rear Section: 
  Push the end tabs inward (toward the center), then lift the shelf up from the rear. This disengages it from the side slots.

Mechanic managed to get it out. Will take it to Honda dealershipto check it out.
