I had a similar message once and after reading the online Honda instructions closer I reformatted the USB stick using the 'default allocation units' option and it worked
Many thanks - just tried that (re-formatting), but see the same error message.

The only other thing is try a newer USB stick, assuming yours isn't a new 3.0 one

I first used an old stick I'd been using in my 2013 Civic and that failed to be read

Then I got a newer USB and all well

Just looked up the one I bought ..... SanDisk black 16b 3.0 flash drive

Let's be careful out there !

So today I finally managed to update the software via USB-web (when I tried it in the summer, it kept loading on the web for a long time, until it froze and nothing).

The update is called "rb_update_1763377981231" and it also solves Android Auto and Apple Car.
Things should serve me, not me them

Hello,
my experience: as a new Jazz user (crossstar 2025), first thing I tried was to update what I could (maps and system sw ).
I had the same message as per your 1st screenshot; I am using a mobile phone (android) in hotspot mode to get the data.

I declined the update with engine off, and did it on the spot. What happened next is:
1. It took some time to do the update (I thought it would be faster)
2. It confirmed the update was completed and it rebooted. Reboot was also rather slow
3. Upon startup, the navigation apps,  embedded garmin and the android auto would not start (garmin would refuse to start, android would be unable to accept any route  :( ) . Radio FM/Dab and other apps ok though.
4. To recover, I had to reset the system (option under 'Systems' menu). This also was rather time consuming
4.1 Upon restart, I had lost my personalization (radio stations, saved places in garmin, etc), so I had to reenter these; on the positive, it seems the system did update  :)

Bye, bye
Giovanni

Mine just did two updates via the TCU and my home fibre broadband. Mostly Android related I believe.  Anyone done theirs and was anything noticeably different? I haven't noticed anything yet but was hoping for wireless Android Auto - it didn't happen.

Wireless can be activated via the engineering menu as posted here a few times

But, I found the Google version very hit and miss so went back to cable. Can't comment on CarPlay
Let's be careful out there !

A very strange thing happened to my Jazz yesterday….

For some time I kept getting reminders about a software update. I have been ignoring it because it was such a faff trying to work out how to do it and connecting to the internet. Even a chap at a dealership attempted to show me how it was done…but I found it a bit technical (yes,I am a certain age  ;D)…

Anyway, others on here said it wouldn’t make much difference so I left it…….THEN yesterday ,nowhere near home or a known internet connection…a message on the screen …”Your software will update in 1 minute”..I didn’t have time to wait,so switched off the engine… 2 hours later returned to the car, switched on and a new message “Your software has been updated”…

Is this witchcraft? Work of the devil? Who knows? But I am just a little confused, but happy…..

Anybody else have this ?

I've had a similar problem.
I've a 23reg Crosstar. It can't find our internet hub when the car is on our drive. So I have used the USB method several times as it says there's updated available. When I go on-line it says my car is up to date.
I was once in Sainsbury's car park and it automatically updated, "something."
It's due for a service at the beginning of next month, I'll let the main dealer sort it out.

I had the identical thing as you described happen to me about two weeks ago
I just thought oh well that's good, strange can't weigh it up, although the wife has a few
things that do automatic updates, laptop iPhone iPad all apple devices if that makes
any difference. I like you ignored all the update available messages then it happened.

I've a message on the big screen that says a software update is available.
My car can't access our internet hub as it's too far away to connect.
I've used a USB, but the internet site says "there's no updates to download."
It's been doing this for a year.
The car's going in for a service on Monday, I'll let them sort it out.

Just a heads up……for those of us with the older Garmin Sat Nav systems the latest map update for 2026 is now available
From the advert "Who knows where you’ll go?"
