Hi guys, have purchased an AliExpress Android head unit, installed and working but cannot get steering wheel controls working for vol up and down and track skip etc. Wanted to confirn that the car uses CANBUS for these signals. The adaptor loom that came with the unit did not include a CANBUS adaptor and I believe that it should have. Appreciate any feedback or experience.

Cannot answer your specific question about CANBUS but changed my original head unit for an old Pioneer aftermarket unit I had sitting in the garage (previously fitted to a Volvo and removed when the Volvo was sold).

My Jazz steering wheel controls all work OK with the Pioneer unit (including the aftermarket reverse camera I fitted).

Thanks GBH, did you have to solder any wires for the steering wheel controls, was there a SWC adaptor box included?

Needed a SWC loom kit that was just plug and play (no soldering needed as the matching connectors were already part of the kit). I think the loom adapter kit came from Dynamic Sounds via eBay.

I recently had to remove the entertainment unit in order to try and replace a bulb in the A/C controls but couldn't budge the control unit panel so gave up and put it all back. Unfortunately, my SWC now no longer work (they previously did) so I am up the proverbial creek sans paddle as I cannot locate a wiring diagram of the control kit.

I'm really confused now... the seller told me that I have to buy *specific* version of his head unit (the one with 8 cores that costs $180) PLUS specific canbus he'll give me.

I asked another seller and he gave me more or less the same answer, but he didn't say I have to buy the 8 cores (just becuase it's nicer, as he said) and gave me this canbus, claiming that all what I need to make the stock reverse camera to work.

I can't understand where it plugs to. Is the stock camera plugging into the canbus, which itself plugs into the harness cables provided by the head unit package?

There’s no need to canbus. The head unit alone can learn the steering wheel control
