WiFi connection priority

I like to drive using the built-in HERE navigation system, and therefore I need to use my phone as a WiFi hotspot to provide live traffic information. When I start the car, the default WiFi connection seems to be Smartphone, and I have to change the mode to Network every time. Does anyone know how to set Network as the default connection instead?

Yes it is possible but a bit involved! To do this requires that the wireless apple carplay is disabled. There is a hidden menu (search the forum for details how to access this) and set the carplay option to USB only. I have deliberately not given step by step instructions as this procedure should only be used by those with a certain level of knowledge, but if you find the instructions and feel competent then go ahead and you will be pleased with the result.
