Jazz 1.4 Mk1 Clutch Slave Cylinder plastic washer
« on: May 28, 2025, 07:40:59 PM »
Hi - it's over a year since I took the slave cylinder off my 08 1.4 jazz (MK1).  I'm putting a new slave cylinder on, but could someone say where exactly this washer should go: Is it on the cylinder end of the push rod, or does it go at the end of the push rod near the clutch release arm?  I can't remember now!

There's a pic here:
Thanks
Mark

No experience of Jazz clutch, but does the mark across the diameter from  U cutout to U cutout align with anything on the slave mechanism?
What might the U cutouts engage with?
Good luck with your repair.

Thanks - yes, you would think that the cutaways are there for a reason, i'll keep looking.  Cheers!

I've looked at photos of two used one for sale on line .  Both are assembled with the washer  reinforcing ridges facing out - away from the cylinder / rubber boot.  Of course both may have been replaced wrongly  for the photos  but the odds are its correct.  Especially if the reverse side is smooth as this is less likely to damage the rubber in use.
My IQ test came back negative

There are references to Jazz Manuals on https://clubjazz.org/forum/index.php?topic=11327.0
One mentions a zip file ~ see reply #13.
Might be worth a PM to Jocko.
